Outdoor Therapy in Grenoside Woods, Sheffield
Therapy, but not in a room
There are times when sitting opposite someone in a therapy room can feel too much — or simply not quite right.
Outdoor therapy offers another way.
We walk side by side, or sit amongst the trees, allowing the work to unfold with a little more space around it.
Why outdoors?
Something often shifts when we step outside.
Being in Grenoside Woods offers:
A sense of space when things feel stuck
Gentle grounding, without any expectation to keep moving
Permission to pause, stop, sit, or walk — entirely at your pace
A less formal, more human way of being together
We don’t analyse the environment — but we might notice what stands out, what you’re drawn to, or what feels difficult to be with.
How sessions work
Sessions take place in Grenoside Woods and are shaped around you.
This isn’t about fitness or covering distance.
We move slowly, take breaks, or stay in one place — whatever feels right for you on the day.
We might:
Walk a little, then stop
Sit for most (or all) of the session
Adjust pace moment by moment
There’s no expectation on your body, energy, or ability.
Who this might suit
Outdoor therapy can feel like a better fit if:
You find it easier to talk when you’re not being directly looked at
You feel overwhelmed, stuck, or mentally busy
You want something less clinical and more grounded
You have a baby with you
