About me
My name is Ilona and I am a UKCP trainee psychotherapist in Advanced TA Training at the Berne Institute offering in-person psychotherapy. My focus is on creating a supportive, open space where you can better understand yourself and move towards a more fulfilling way of being. Alongside my training, I completed the Basic Counselling Skills workshop in 2024 and have also completed the Infant and Pregnancy Loss practitioner, Rainbow Baby specialist and Infertility Specialist training.
Before starting my psychotherapy journey, I worked as a secondary school teacher and am now a full-time firefighter. I know first-hand the demands of high-pressure environments and the importance of finding space to reflect and reconnect with yourself. As someone diagnosed with Autism and ADHD as an adult, I bring a personal understanding of neurodiversity to my work. In my personal life, when I'm in flow I practice breathwork and meditation. I love spending time in nature with my husband, training CrossFit, and engaging in meaningful, authentic connections with those around me.
I have recently started a family and have been embracing the transition into motherhood and all the learning and growth that comes with it. While this is an exciting chapter, it has also been extremely challenging in ways I didn’t anticipate. Change, even when deeply wanted, can bring unexpected difficulties, and I understand the importance of support during times of transition.
