Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in the 20-minute introductory call?

It’s a brief, informal conversation.

I’ll ask what brings you to therapy and what you’re hoping for. You can ask me questions about how I work. It's for us to decide whether we are well suited.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies.

Some people come for 6–12 sessions focused on one issue. Others choose open-ended therapy for longer-term work over years.

We’ll review as we go. You decide when you’re ready to end, and we plan endings rather than stopping abruptly.

Do sessions happen at the same time each week?

Not always.

Because I work on a shift pattern, sessions are arranged in blocks of six. Appointment times may vary slightly from week to week, but they are mutually agreed in advance to maintain consistency.

Will you tell me what to do?

No.

I won’t give advice or tell you how to live your life. Instead, I’ll help you notice patterns, understand your reactions, and clarify what matters to you.

The aim is to support you to make your own decisions with more awareness and confidence.

What can I expect from therapy?

Therapy takes time and commitment from both of us.

We will talk about what’s happening now, but we may also look at past experiences and patterns. Some sessions may feel challenging or confusing. That’s normal.

My role is to provide a consistent, thoughtful space where we can look at things honestly and at your pace.

What if I don’t know what to say?

That’s okay.

You don’t need to prepare. We can start wherever you are.
